Led by performers Lora Lee Ecobelli, Eddie Allen, Nancy Rothman and Andrew Joffe, the new ensemble at Blue Horse, is an outgrowth of Walking the Dog’s Off Leash Improvisation in Chatham.
The afternoon workshop will take place from 3-5 p.m. and the evening performance will begin at 7 p.m.
“Participants can expect to experience fun, terror, confusion, love, hate and all the other human emotions that come from being in a story the end of which has not yet been written,” said Arts on the Lake’s Theatre Programs Director James Shearwood regarding the afternoon workshop.
For the evening performance at 7 p.m., suggestions taken from the audience will be incorporated into the playing and advance the stories.
“Although improvisation has been part of the play rehearsal process for centuries, it is only in recent years where it has become also a performance art. Watching performers spontaneously create dialogue, a setting and a plot means no two performances are ever alike,” said Shearwood.
Tickets to the performance are $15, with discounts for AotL members and students. The workshop tuition is $24, also with discounts for members and students. Workshop tuition includes admission to the evening performance.
