Miriam Risko is co-owner of Mike Risko Music School and Store in Ossining. Mike and Miriam have been in business since 1995. Their business is proud to have achieved two Best of Westchester awards in addition to the Macaroni Kids Best Place for Music Lessons. They also are listed as one of the top 100 music dealers in the world by NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) and they were named Ambassadors of Ossining in 2014. Miriam is a member of the National Association Teachers of Singing. In addition to their music lesson program which offers private lessons on all instruments and voice and a staff of 30 teachers, they also have a fully stocked music store, band instrument rental company and rock band which plays all over the area. Miriam has been teaching voice and piano for the past 20 years and specializes in musical theatre and contemporary music. In addition to her musical career, Miriam and Mike have two children in the Ossining School District. Miriam is Vice President of the PTA Council in Ossining, Secretary of Ossining Upper Education PTA and served on the lower PTA for several years in Ossining. Miriam is an admin and creator of Ossining Moms Facebook page. Miriam is also a member of the Ossining Downtown Entertainment Committee and she volunteers for Ossining MATTERS Education foundation. Mike and Miriam have worked with countless organizations in Westchester like The Ossining and Briarcliff Chambers of Commerce, the Ossining Children's Center, The Pleasantville Cottage School and PTAs in various other towns. Their band has performed all over including Ossining and Croton village fairs and they have performed at events for many of the schools in Ossining, Schools in Chappaqua, Pocantico Hills and Education Foundations in Tarrytown and Croton. They have also done events for Phelps Hospital and Ossining MATTERS, Town and Village of Ossining, Briarcliff Manor, Briarcliff Rotary, Z-100 and inaugural events in Ossining and opening day for JCYS Baseball where Miriam has been proud to sing the National Anthem several times.
