Ex-Boyfriend Arrested In Connection To Homicide Of Westchester Woman, 24, Found In Greenwich
Greenwich and New Rochelle police have arrested a former boyfriend in the murder of Valerie Reyes, the Westchester woman who was found dead bound and stuffed inside a suitcase in a wooded Greenwich area.
On Tuesday, Feb. 12, New Rochelle Police detectives, accompanied by Greenwich Police detectives, arrested Javier DeSilva, of Queens, in New York who had fraudulently used Reyes’ ATM card, said New Rochelle Police Capt. Cosmo Costa.
Reyes, 24, was found dead on the morning of Feb. 5, just off Glenville Road in Greenwich, said Greenwich Police Capt. Robert Berry.

Drunk Westchester Motorist, 36, Crashes Into Wall, Flees Scene, Police Say
A Westchester man was arrested after allegedly crashing a vehicle into a brick wall and then fleeing the scene.
Juan Gonzalez, 36, of Yonkers, was arrested around 4:25 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 after Greenwich Police responded to the area of 122 Round Hill Road for a report that a vehicle had crashed into a brick wall, said the Greenwich Police.
When officers arrived on the scene they found the vehicle had left the scene but was found in a driveway on Round Hill Road, police said.
A further investigation found that Gonzalez had red, glassy eyes, and smelled of alcohol, police said.…
Westchester Duo Among Four Nabbed In Fraud Scheme At Bank In Greenwich, Police Say
A man and woman from Westchester were among four nabbed in a scheme to cash a fraudulent check at a Greenwich bank, according to police.
The incident took place around 4:29 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, when Makeeba Mercedes Bell, 28, of Ardsley, walked into the Chase Bank on Greenwich Avenue and attempted to cash a fraudulent check, Greenwich Police said.
Bell, who was wearing a green hoodie and black sweatpants, walked towards the rear of the bank parking lot where arriving Greenwich officers saw her getting into a Honda Civic parked in the handicapped spot, police said.

Westchester Man Driving With Flat Tires Was Under Influence, Police Say
A Westchester man operating a motor vehicle with flat tires was driving under the influence, Greenwich Police said.
Bryan Morabito, 44, of White Plains, was arrested around 6:58 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, after officers were dispatched to the area of Lake Avenue for the report of an erratic driver, driving on flat tires, said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz.
After stopping the vehicle, officers could smell alcohol on Morabito's beath and he was slurring his words and had bloodshot eyes, Slusarz said.

Westchester Teen Arrested For Dragging Dog With Car
A teen who lives in Westchester was arrested for allegedly dragging a dog on a leash with his vehicle, then tying it up and leaving it injured on the side of the road, Greenwich Police said.
Alex Orozco, 18, of Port Chester, was charged Wednesday, April 4 with felony cruelty to animals for the crime which took place on Feb. 14, said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz.
Police said Orozco took the dog after being involved in a domestic violence incident on Rodwell Avenue.
