Frank Gallo, Sr. of Yonkers was charged with animal cruelty. The SPCA received a call to its confidential animal cruelty hotline on Tuesday saying a pit bull, Riley, was allegedly picked up by its neck in a chokehold and violently thrown down two flights of stairs by Grillo. Riley was rushed to a local veterinary hospital for medical attention. His injuries were not serious, the SPCA said.
