BRONXVILLE, N.Y. The United States Professional Tennis Association has named Concordia College mens and womens tennis coach Neil Tarangioli as the East Region Coach of the Year.
Tarangioli led both the mens and womens teams to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference championship wins and appearances in the NCAA Tournament in 2012. He has coached the mens team at Concordia for 32 seasons and took over as womens coach for the first time this year.
Tarangioli led the women to an 11-2 record, 8-0 conference, in 2012, while the men finished 18-8 and 6-0. He earned CACC Coach of the Year and Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association East Region Coach of the Year honors for his work with the mens team.
The mens team finished No. 1 in the NCAA Division II East Region rankings and No. 15 NCAA Division II National Rankings. The Clippers' season ended in the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament.
The womens team finished No. 2 in the NCAA Division II East Region Rankings and No. 45 in the NCAA Division II National Rankings. The Clippers' season ended in the NCAA East Regional Finals.
