Clippers Women Dropped by Caldwell College

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College Clippers women's basketball team lost a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game to visiting Caldwell College Thursday, 80-68.

Concordia (2-8) began the game on a 9-2 run only to have Caldwell take the lead after a 10-0 run of its own. The Clippers fell behind by double digits with 9:05 remaining in the half after the Cougars hit a three-point shot.

Caldwell went on a 12-0 run to extend their lead to 20 with 5:37 to go in the half. Concordia managed to cut the deficit to only 13 and trailed 39-26 at the half.

The Clippers cut Caldwell's lead to single digits after a three-point basket by junior Sade Jones (Paterson, N.J.) 90 seconds into the half. After a layup by junior Krystina Agard (Queens, N.Y.), Concordia trailed by five points but could not close the gap any further.

Agard led the Clippers with 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field and 7-of-8 from the foul line. Agard also added six assists, three rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Mariah Berry (Southington, Conn.) came off the bench to score a career-high 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field and chipped in with five rebounds and two steals.

The Clippers will be back in action Saturday for another conference game at Georgian Court University for a 12 p.m. game in Lakewood, N.J.
