BRONXVILLE, N.Y – The Bronxville Public School District has canceled school for Tuesday as a result of Hurricane Sandy.
The school had already taken several safety precautions in preparation for the storm. Items in the school were moved into large storage containers to avoid damage from flooding, windows were covered, sandbags were positioned inside and outside of the building, diesel fuel was on hand and water suction pipes were connected from inside the school to the street. The district asks residents to stay away from the school grounds, including the playground and parking lot.
