BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – When the new academic year kicks off on Monday, the Bronxville School Foundation will have a new look, as it welcomes three new board members and a new chairperson.

The Bronxville School Foundation is a non-profit organization that has provided the district more than $6 million in grants. Their projects include the renovations at Chambers Field, which will come at no cost to taxpayers.

Christine Fitzgibbons, the former vice president of grants has been elected as the newest chair of the board, succeeding former chair Suzanne McCann. The three new board members are Timothy McGrath, Nancy Yu Kochansky and Matthew Burnell, each of whom has several children in the school district.

McGrath is a former educator at St Joseph’s School and Archbishop Stepinac High School. He served as varsity basketball coach for both Stepinac and Bronxville School District. He is an alum of the district, where he attended until eighth grade before graduating from Fordham Prep.

Kochansky, the chief operating officer of a healthcare investment firm, will act as the co-chair for the 2014 Bronxville School District reunion and is an active member of several organizations in Eastchester. Outside of her work in the district, she has also taught at Concordia College and was a curriculum consultant for the university’s graduate program in business leadership.

Burnell is a former resident of the village, living in Bronxville from 2000 to 2006 before returning in 2010 to enroll his children in the school district. He currently is a managing director at Wells Fargo Securities, where he is responsible for team coverage of American banks.

“These three new board members are exceptionally talented and committed individuals who bring a breadth of valuable experience to the foundation,” Fitzgibbons said. “They are certain to make significant contributions to our school and the Foundation’s initiatives. I look forward to working alongside them.”
