A Westchester motorist is facing multiple charges after a road rage incident, police say.

Darien Police received a report from the victim on Sunday, March 10 around 7 p.m. stating that a red sedan was following her in a threatening manner. She said the vehicle first started following her in Rowayton, and she was currently on Hecker Avenue.

The victim was instructed to pull over in front of the police department, which was nearby. An officer arrived, observed the red sedan behind the victim’s vehicle, and instructed the operator to pull over.

The victim allegedly told officers that the sedan was driving extremely fast and had almost hit her while she was parked in Rowayton. Police say that when she motioned out her window to the vehicle to slow down, the driver yelled and stuck his tongue out before making a U-turn and starting to follow her. At this point, the victim stated that she didn’t want to drive home, so she drove into Darien, and the vehicle followed her the entire time.

Officers identified the suspect as 40-year-old Geovanny Morocho of Hawthorne. Police say they noticed several signs of impairment when interviewing Morocho, who stated that he didn’t know where he was and believed he was 10 minutes from his home. Officers then asked Morocho to participate in a series of field sobriety tests, which he did not pass.

Morocho was arrested and transported to police headquarters. Breathalyzer testing showed a BAC of .2385 at 9 p.m. He faces the following charges:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs
  • Vehicle driven with intent to harass or intimidate
  • Operating a motor vehicle without a license
  • Breach of peace

Morocho was unable to post his $1,000 bond and was transported to court on Monday, March 11.
