BRONXVILLE, N.Y. — A 54-year-old Bronxville man was arrested June 18 and charged with choking his live-in girlfriend, Bronxville police said.

The woman complained of a broken rib after the 2:20 p.m. assault on Milburn Street and was treated at Lawrence Hospital, police said. The man was held at Westchester County Jail on misdemeanor charges of obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and third-degree assault, police said.

In a busy 10-day period, Bronxville police also reported the following:

Minors Possessing Drugs: Two 16-year-old boys from Mount Vernon were charged with marijuana possession after their car was stopped at about 6:40 p.m. June 27 on Midland Avenue for an alleged seatbelt violation. Police officers reported “a strong odor of marijuana” emanating from the car and discovered that one teenager had a sandwich bag full of marijuana, while the other had a small plastic bag containing the drug, a marijuana grinder, rolling papers and eye drops. Both teens were released on their own recognizance, and the 1999 vehicle they were in was impounded, police said.

Taxis without Insurance: Gilber Pearson, 59, of Mount Vernon had his 2006 Crown Victoria taxi impounded at about 6:15 p.m. June 26 on Midland Avenue after officers discovered his registration had been suspended for cancelled for-hire insurance, police said. Pearson was released with a criminal-court appearance ticket.

At about 5 p.m. June 24, Bronxville police similarly arrested Ernesto Santos, 43, of New Rochelle, alleging his vehicle registration was suspended due to cancelled for-hire insurance. Santos’s 2010 Toyota Prius was impounded and he was released on a court appearance ticket, police said.

Lack of Insurance: Jennifer Arditi, 45, of Yonkers was arrested June 25 on Midland Avenue on a charge of driving with a suspended registration due to lapsed car insurance, police said. Arditi’s 2011 GMC Suburban was impounded and she was released with a criminal-court appearance ticket, police said.

On June 22, Amarilis de Padilla, 29, of White Plains was arrested on Pondfield Road, also charged with having a suspended registration due to lapsed insurance on his 2003 Toyota Highlander. The vehicle was impounded and Padilla was issued a criminal-court appearance ticket, police said.

Unlicensed and on Cellphone:  On June 23, officers arrested Jade Destino, 45, of White Plains and charged her with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and being on a cellphone while driving at about 9 p.m. on Tanglewylde Avenue. Police said she had 12 suspensions for failure to respond to summonses in Nassau County. Destino was released on $250 bail, pending a court appearance, police said.

Unlicensed and Running a Stop Sign:  Ahmad-Saleh Muath, 26, of the Bronx was arrested at about 6:15 p.m. June 19, charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle after he reportedly ran a stop sign at Stoneleigh Plaza while driving his 2008 Mini Cooper. Police said Muath’s license was been suspended for failure to pay a driver responsibility assessment. He was issued a ticket for running the stop sign and released after being given a criminal-court appearance ticket, police said.

Vehicle Booted:  A 54-year-old Connecticut man found his vehicle booted at about 11:30 a.m. June 26 while parked on Pondfield Road. The man reportedly owed $280 in parking fines. The boot was removed after he paid the fine, police said.
