A man from Westchester is facing charges for allegedly making a threat against a county judge, police announced on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Millwood resident Steven McDowell, 41, was arrested by Westchester County Police on Monday, Sept. 9 and charged with making a terroristic threat.

McDowell was booked at County Police headquarters in Hawthorne and held overnight pending his arraignment on Tuesday in New Rochelle City Court.

New York State Court Officers reported to County Police on Monday that a person involved in a court action in Westchester had made a threat to harm the judge. Detectives from the General Investigations Unit investigated the alleged threat and took McDowell into custody at his home last night.

According to police, no weapons were recovered during a search of McDowell’s residence. The name of the judge and the court have not been disclosed as the investigation into the alleged threat continues.
