BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- The Bronxville Chess Club sent more than 40 players to the National Schoolastic Chess Foundation's tournament at Greenwich Country Day School in November.
The club, which includes both elementary and middle school players, sent 41 chess players for the team's first sponsored tournament of the year. The team sent 13 first-time players and 10 veterans who went to the Chess SuperNationals in Nashville last April. The Bronxville Chess Club won three first-place team trophies in the championship, reserve, and booster sections and one second-place team trophy in the primary novice section.
"It was a good chess day," representatives with the team said. "Congratulations to all chess team members--and good luck for the upcoming season."
