BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Bronxville native Nathan Barr could snatch up some hardware during the 2013 Emmy Awards, which will be Sept. 15 in Los Angeles.

The 1991 Bronxville High School graduate has been nominated in the film composer category.

Barr, who already has gained notoriety for his music for the HBO series "True Blood," is now up for awards for his compositions for two new series, "The Americans" and "Hemlock Grove."

Barr has been in California since 1996, after graduating from Syracuse University.

The Bronxville native already has quite a resume, having produced music for more than three dozen TV shows and motion pictures. In the future, he will continue to compose music for "True Blood." He also will continue to write music for the Amazon original series "Tumbleaf."
