The fourth annual Gingerbread House Making fundraiser garnered $600 to benefit Westchester County’s chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
The money will be used to build homes for residents from the area on low incomes.
The fundraiser allows club members to "spend time with the community during the holidays and raise money for a great organization,” said social studies teacher Chris Doyle.
Doyle and math teacher Zhanna Cabrera are club advisors.
Elementary school kids attended the gingerbread house display/fundraiser. They were asked to give a small donation, said Doyle.
“The most rewarding part was seeing the delight on the young children’s faces and having them make a connection within the school district, Doyle said.
