School Lockdown Drills Would Be Reduced Under NY Bill Some New York state lawmakers want to reduce the number of school lockdown drills that are held each year over concerns they could be harmful to students’ mental health. A bill sponsored by Democratic Sen. Andrew Gounardes and Assemblymember Jo Anne Simon would cut back the number of required lockdown drills from four per year to two. In a notice on Thursday, March 14, the FDA said the outbreak was caused by oysters sold by Norwalk-based Norm Bloom and Son harvested in February. Mamajuana Cafe Prime, located in Hartsdale at 215 East Hartsdale Ave., announced on its website that it was permanently closed as of Friday, March 15.   The eatery, which opened in March 2023, had served Latin fashion cuisine and had been known for its tropical ambiance.  No reason for the closure was given on the restaurant's website.  Those who loved visiting the eatery can still enjoy three other Mamajuana Cafe locations in New York City, as well as two in New Jersey.
