BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – Fifteen-year-old Briarcliff golfer Cameron Young led three other Westchester golfers at Trump National Golf Club in a Local Qualifying Round conducted Thursday by the Metropolitan Golf Association in advancing to the June 4 regional qualifier for a chance to play in this year's 112th U.S. Open Golf Championship, June 14-17.

Reigning MGA Player of the Year Mike Miller, a 20-year-old amateur from Brewster, joined Young shooting 3-under par 69s to share top medalist honors. Finishing at 1-under 71 and also securing qualifying positions were J.J. Amoruso of Hawthorne and Craig Thomas of White Plains. Joe Gothmann of Tarrytown qualified with an even-par 72.

Young had a bogey-free round with birdies on holes five, 12 and 14, while Miller recorded an eagle on the par-5 second hole and had four birdies and two bogeys the rest of the way.
