BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- Students at Briarcliff High School and Middle School were sent home early today and all afterschool activities were cancelled as a result of a water main break.
The break occurred on the street across from the entrance to the high school/middle school, resulting in an 11 a.m. early dismissal.
"There is no damage to the school buildings but the water system will be shut off in order for repairs to begin," an email alert sent by the district stated. "There will be no running water in the buildings after 11 a.m., and therefore, for health and safety reasons, students and staff must vacate the building. School bus transportation will be in place for the 11 a.m. dismissal."
