BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- Briarcliff seventh-grade instrumentalists were invited to take part in the Village of Briarcliff Manor’s annual Holiday Sing-Along on Sunday, Dec. 7.
“We had 12 students volunteer and we prepared holiday music with extra rehearsals after school for a few weeks,” said Briarcliff Middle School band teacher Christopher Melito.
Along with the Briarcliff Manor Recreation Department, the flutists, trumpeters, clarinetist, saxophonist, French horn player, euphonium player and percussionist helped brighten the beginning of the holiday season for village residents at Law Memorial Park.
“We performed for people as they entered the event by playing Christmas and Hanukkah selections specifically arranged for this ensemble,” Melito said. “Despite the cold weather, the students performed well and enjoyed being part of the festivities."
