BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- The Briarcliff Manor Education Foundation funded a new piece of equipment for Briarcliff High School's fitness center.
“The most recent addition is the arc trainer,” said A.J. Thau, the physical education coordinator for grades 6-12.
“The arc trainer is a machine that adds to the cardiovascular component of our fitness center. It offers a synergistic workout that entails running and elliptical training and is easier on muscles and joints than a traditional treadmill.”
Each year, the BMEF awards projects and grants at each school to enhance and enrich curricula. The arc trainer already is getting a lot of use, as the fitness center recently extended its hours.
High school students are able to use the facility after school from 3:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
