Harvey Louie, of Flushing Queens, was crossing Main Street in Huntington at approximately 6:25 p.m. on Monday, May 3, to get back to his vehicle, Suffolk County Police said, when he was struck by a 2009 Lincoln SUV being driven by local resident Samuel Miller.

Police said that Louie, age 57, was treated at the scene before being transported by paramedics to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment of “serious physical injuries.”

Miller, age 67, was uninjured, and his vehicle was temporarily impounded for a safety check. Louie’s condition on Tuesday morning was not immediately available.
