ARDSLEY, N.Y. -- A dumpster on the back of a tractor trailer caught on fire on I-87 in Ardsley between exits 8 and 9 late Friday morning.
The dumpster caught fire at 11:54 a.m. and firefighters were able to extinguish it at 12:47 p.m. according to David Howard of the New York State Police. While the fire was being battled, the right and center lanes were blocked. There were no injuries.
The lanes have since been reopened.
