Driver Hospitalized, Main Road Closed In Hudson Valley After Crash

A person was taken to a hospital after a one-car crash that shut down a main road in the Hudson Valley. 

The one-car crash happened in Mahopac in the area of Route 6N and Boniello Drive.

The crash happened in Putnam County on Tuesday, Feb. 21 around 6:45 p.m., when firefighters in Mahopac were sent to the area of State Route 6N and Boniello Drive to respond to the collision. 

Once arriving at the scene, crews found that the driver had to be assisted out of the damaged vehicle, according to the Mahopac Falls Fire Department. 

Route 6N was then closed at the intersections with Rose Drive and Archer Road while the driver was transferred to an ambulance and the car was towed away. 

The road was reopened after about an hour, fire officials said. The injured driver was taken to Westchester County Medical Center to be treated.
