Cheever Centennial Celebration with Blake Bailey: 7 to 8 p.m. Blake Bailey, author of "Cheever A Life," will discuss his biography on John Cheever and writing in general. Ossining School Spirit Mania Presentation: 2:30 to 5 p.m. As the contest winners for MSG Varsitys School Spirit Mania, the Ossining School District will receive a customized golf cart as a prize. Dozens of Ossining officials are scheduled to make an appearance. The program is open to parents and students in grades 1 and up. Space is limited to the first 20 children to arrive. Briarcliff Middle School/High School Dance Show: 7:30 to 10 p.m. Dance students in grades 6 through 12 will perform original, student-choreographed works. Ossining EMS Day: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ambulance corps members welcome residents to their annual EMS Day, a celebration of the volunteer emergency responders. Old Croton Aqueduct Ossining Weir Tour: 1 to 3 p.m. View a short film and walk to the Weir on the Double Arch Bridge to tour the underground interior of the Old Croton Aqueduct. Enter the Weir and learn from a guide how the aqueduct was constructed and provided water to New York City beginning in the mid-1800s. Joseph G. Caputo Community Center, 95 Broadway, Ossining.
Hudson Bells Concert: 3 to 5 p.m. The Hudson Bells will be performing at the Ossining Public Librarys Budarz Theater.
Ossining Park Ceremony: Noon to 4 p.m. The Village of Ossining will celebrate park enhancements to three of the Villages parks. Sparta Park recently received a gazebo, a new childrens playground and enhanced landscaping. Nelson Park also received new stadium lighting at its tennis courts. The presentations willl be followed by a group hike at the Edward M. Wheeler Crawbuckie Nature Preserve at 1 p.m. to celebrate the opening of the new trails, overlooks and improvements to this riverside park, including the installation of a handicapped accessible trail.
