A registered sex offender who was convicted of raping a teenage girl has reported a move in Westchester County.
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 52-year-old Herman Hardee, who has moved from Mount Vernon to an address on Operations Drive in Valhalla
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Hardee as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Hardee had sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old victim in Mount Vernon and was convicted of second-degree rape in August 1985. Hardee was sentenced to a term of between 30 months and five years in state prison. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Westchester County Department of Public Safety.
