BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – Briarcliff Manor residents will no longer see their friendly neighborhood postal carrier coming up the walkway Saturday to deliver a bundle of mail.
The U.S. Postal Service announced Wednesday plans to halt Saturday mail delivery beginning in August. The Postal Service expects to generate cost savings of $2 billion annually once the plan is fully implemented. USPS Representatives said packages and express mail would be delivered to both homes and businesses on Saturdays, but not regular mail.
