TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- PTA members, library employees, school officials and public relations representatives from school districts throughout the rivertowns came to a lunch at the DoubleTree hotel Monday to hear about the company and its recently launched Better Schools Bonanza competition. Better Schools Bonanza is a contest that runs until Oct. 28 and gives residents a chance to earn money for local elementary schools.
Carll Tucker, publisher and founder of Main Street Connect, which launched 32 hyperlocal news sites on June 1, said the company aims to be the must-read site for local news and information in each community it serves.
Sign up at your local Main Street Connect website and vote for your favorite elementary school. The school with the most votes will take home $10,000. The runner-up will receive $1,000 and any school that gets 500 votes automatically wins $500.
