OSSINING, N.Y. With leaves changing color, several fall festivals featuring pumpkin carving, scarecrow making and live music are planned for this weekend. Here are the details:
Ossining Family Fun Day, 10 a.m. 1 p.m.
There will be hayrides, music, a pie-eating contest, make your own scarecrow, pumpkin eating and face painting at this fall event organized by the Ossining Recreation and Parks Department in conjunction with the Ossining farmers market. Activities will take place in Market Square at the corner of Main and Spring streets. Bring your own old clothes for scarecrow making and hay will be supplied for stuffing.
Briarcliff Harvest in the Village, 10 a.m. 3 p.m.
Fall street festival organized by the Briarcliff Chamber of Commerce will feature sidewalk sales, a petting zoo, a clown, a juggler, an air castle, food and drink samples and live music by Mike and Miriam Risko, owners of the Mike Risko music school in Ossining. Festival will take place on Pleasantville Road in downtown Briarcliff.
Teatown Lake Reservation's Fall Festival, 11 a.m. 4:30 p.m.
Carve a pumpkin, decorate with vegetables, make a scarecrow, take a hayride, listen to local musicians, see Muscoot Farm animals, watch birds of prey up close or take a ride down the SavATree zip line at Teatown's annual fall festival. Admission is free for members. For non-members, admission is$10 for adults and $5 for children. Teatown Lake Reservation is located at 1600 Spring Valley Rd. in Ossining.
Joe D'Urso and Stone Caravan concert, 2 p.m.
As part of the Ossining Library Foundation's "Words and Music" concert series, rock musicians Joe D'Urso and Stone Caravan will perform in the Budarz Theater in the library at 53 Croton Ave.
