Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker announced the state’s new Employer Vaccination Program, which will provide two options to more easily vaccinate groups of employees during the latest phase of vaccinations.

Beginning on Monday, May 17, employers can request a block of appointment at any of Massachusetts’ mass vaccination sites. To expedite the registration process, employers will also be able to help register employees for their appointments or can provide a link to employees to sign up during the block of appointments.

Baker said that registration requires only basic demographic information, and insurance or identification is not required at the time of registration or appointment if it is not available.

Employers can also set up a table or kiosk on-site to have an onsite presence for employees, which can be coordinated with the site operator after submitting a request.

Mass vaccination sites that can be booked:

  • Hynes Convention Center in Boston;
  • Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury;
  • Doubletree Hotel in Danvers;
  • Gillette Stadium in Foxborough;
  • Former Circuit City in Dartmouth;
  • Natick Mall in Natick;
  • Eastfield Mall in Springfield.

According to Baker, most vaccination appointments take less than 30 minutes, including the 15-minute observation period, though groups of at least 10 employees are required to reserve a block. There is no maximum number of employees.

Employers who have confirmed that 35 or more employees will receive a vaccination at a pop-up clinic may also request a mobile, on-site, vaccination clinic.

A vaccination provider will come on-site to the employer to vaccinate employees and return three to four weeks later to deliver 2nd doses. Baker said employers must survey employees and confirm participation prior to requesting a clinic.

To schedule an on-site clinic, employers will have to provide:

  • Address of employer and contact person;
  • Number of employees who have confirmed that they will receive the vaccination;
  • Space for vaccination clinic (inside, outside) and any additional details;
  • Type of appointment registration;
  • Requested date and time.

“Employer clinics will be scheduled and prioritized based upon the number of individuals getting vaccinated and location of the clinic. Employers located in communities with vaccination rates below the state average will be or COVID rates higher than the state average prioritized.”
