Sunday, Feb. 10 will be mostly sunny, with a high in the mid 30s but wind -chill values between 15 and 25.

The chance for snow overnight starts after 1 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11 with little or no accumulation expected. The rest of the day will be partly sunny, with a high near 40.

Then comes the more significant storm on Tuesday, Feb. 12.

Generally, 3 to 6 inches of snowfall is expected for much of the region. According to AccuWeather.com, there is now a 47 percent chance of 3 to 6 inches of accumulation in the area, a 40 percent chance of between 1 and 3 inches and a 3 percent chance of 6 to 10 inches of snowfall.

The storm will arrive overnight Monday into Tuesday with flurries before snow becomes steadier sometime around 8 a.m. Snow will change to freezing rain at times after noontime before changing back to snow and then to sleet and rain as the high temperature climbs just above the freezing mark excepts areas farthest north.

In a Hazardous Weather Statement reissued on Sunday morning for Tuesday for southeast New York, southern Connecticut and northeast New Jersey, saying, "A wintry mix of precipitation, which may begin as early as late Monday night, is expected Tuesday and Tuesday night. There is a chance that the combined amount of snow, sleet and freezing rain reach levels that would eventually warrant a warning."

Rain and sleet will end overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, Feb. 13, which will be partly sunny and warmer with a high in the low to mid 40s.

Valentine's Day on Thursday, Feb. 14 will be mostly sunny with a high around 40.
