A stretch of Route 172 near the Mount Kisco-Bedford border reopened early Wednesday evening after a serious crash caused its closure for approximately eight hours.
At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, a motor vehicle accident forced police to shut down the roadway between McLain Street and Old Wagon Road. The stretch of the road reopened around 6:30 p.m.
Police had detours in place, though they had advised motorists to avoid the area.
There were injuries reported from the accident, though the severity has not been disclosed.
