Video: Long Island Man Charged With Stealing Two Tip Jars

 A Long Island man is in police custody after being caught red-handed stealing tip jars from two Bay Shore eateries earlier this month.

Suffolk County Police today arrested a man after he stole two tip jars in Bay Shore earlier this month.

Khari Cuffie entered Mitsui restaurant on West Main Street on Friday, Sept. 6 and stole the tip jar from the counter, when he was caught on camera. A week later, on Friday, Sept. 13, he allegedly entered the Bay Shore Bean on East Main Street and stole the tip jar next to the register.

The investigation led to the arrest of Cuffie, 29, who was taken into custody on Fourth Avenue near the intersection of Union Boulevard in Bay Shore at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16.

Cuffie was charged with two counts of petit larceny and issued an appearance ticket to respond to First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
