Nassau Man Nabbed For At Least Three Sexual Assaults, Police Say

An attempted sexual assault in Levittown led to the arrest of a man allegedly connected to at least two other attacks.

Onel Jiminez-Maradiaga, 20, of Plainview, was arrested by members of the Nassau County Police Special Victim's Squad on Friday, Sept. 20, following an investigation into the Thursday, Sept. 12 attempted attack in Levittown, Nassau County Police said.

During the Sept. 12 incident, which took place around 10:20 p.m., Jiminez-Maradiaga, allegedly approached a 43-year-old woman as she entered her home and grabbed her inappropriately, police said.

The woman screamed, causing Jiminez-Maradiaga to run away and leave in a dark-colored Chrysler 300 he had left running a short distance away. The woman was not injured, police said.

An investigation into the attack led squad detectives to Jiminez-Maradiaga, who has also been connected to at least two other similar attacks in the area, including:

Monday, Sept. 9, at 5:30 p.m. in Plainview, Jiminez-Maradiaga approached a 27- year-old woman as she was jogging and violently grabbed her inappropriately, police said.

Thursday, Sept. 19, at 9:05 a.m. in Garden City Plaza, Jiminez-Maradiaga followed a 27-year-old woman and violently grabbed her inappropriately, according to police.

Jiminez-Maradiaga was charged with three counts of sexual abuse.
