Police are investigating after a female passenger allegedly tried to lure a teenage girl into a car on Long Island.

Police are investigating after a 14-year-old girl was approached by the driver of a vehicle and this passenger while she was walking home from school on Baker Hill Road in the area of Chadwick Road on Thursday, Oct. 3 around 6:45 p.m.

Detectives with the Nassau County Police Department say a 14-year-old girl was approached by the driver of a vehicle while she was walking home from school on Baker Hill Road in the area of Chadwick Road in Great Neck on Thursday, Oct. 3 around 6:45 p.m.

The vehicle was a newer model white four-door vehicle that was occupied by an undescribed driver and an elderly female passenger, pictured above, police say.

The female passenger allegedly opened her door while the car was in motion and tried to persuade the girl to get into the car multiple times while offering her a ride home.

The driver left the area when the girl took out her phone to make a call, police say.

Detectives urge anyone with information regarding this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
