Accused Heroin Dealer Caught In Act In Westchester, Police Say

Following a short investigation, an alleged area heroin dealer was caught in the act with officers looking on, police said.

David Diaz, 42, of Walden, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 16 in Tarrytown, by members of the Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force following a short-term investigation into drug dealing in the Tarrytown area, said Lt. Greg Budnar of the Tarrytown Police Department.

During the investigation, officers observed Diaz make an alleged narcotics deal, Budnar said.  

A further investigation revealed Diaz was in possession of 312 individual wax envelopes containing a quantity of heroin, police said. 

He was arrested and charged with criminal sale of several counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance. 

Diaz is being held at the Westchester County Jail on $25,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 23.
