BEDFORD, N.Y. – David Page Seaman, a resident of Bedford, died on Sunday, July 24. He was 88.

Born May 15, 1928 in Milwaukee, Wisc., he was the son of Irving Seaman and Anne Douglas Seaman.

He attended The Hotchkiss School, Yale University, and received his law degree from the University of Virginia Law School. Still a practicing attorney, he was passionate about his work and was dedicated to his clients.

In his spare time, he was committed to serving at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Bedford, of which he was a member for more than 50 years. Whether singing in the choir, tending to the acolytes, or making sure the service was set up correctly, you could be sure to find him there every Sunday morning.

It was a great source of pride in his later life to be named Verger of the Church that he loved so much. The greatest love of his life, however, was his family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; eight children, Suzanne Winkelman (Mark) of New York City, Julie Gennarelli (Fran) of Croton-on-Hudson, Amanda Notz (Mark) of Mansfield, Mass., Jennifer Day (Ward) of West Chester, Ohio, Victoria Jue (Perry) of Bakersfield, Calif., C. Page Bowler (Bert) of Ridgefield, Conn., David Jr. (Nicole) of New York City, Geoffrey of Queens, N.Y.; one brother, Richard of Milwaukee, Wisc.; and 19 grandchildren.

A Memorial Service followed by a Reception will be held on Friday, July 29, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Church. Family and friends are invited.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Matthews Church.
