What's Happening in Bedford This Weekend

BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Here are some of the Bedford events planned for the weekend.


- CEF Spring Conference Day Program, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

On this early dismissal day, students are invited to take part in a special program at the American Legion in Mount Kisco entitled “Soar into Space,” a fun informational session with a representative from the Mid-Hudson Valley Children Museum’s Starlab Planetarium. The program is presented by the Community Education Foundation (CEF), an independent not-for-profit organization that provides support for the school district. 


- FLHS Lip Sync, 7:30 p.m.

Fox Lane High School students perform lip sync and dance routines to pop songs in a lip sync talent show.

- Bedford Hills Elementary School Spring Fundraiser - 80s Night, 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The Bedford Hills Community House will host the elementary school’s spring season 80s-themed fundraiser.

- Amphibian Study at Vernal Pools at Hunt-Parker Sanctuary, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Learn about the importance of these wetlands as seasonal spawning areas for salamanders and other amphibians. The program, hosted by Bedford Audubon member Paul Lewis and naturalist Tait Johansson, is for children ages 10 and up. Participants will meet at Bylane Farm at the Bedford Audubon Society at 35 Todd Road in Katonah. This is a free event, but registration is required. 


- Bedford Village Lions Bowl-A-Rama Fundraiser, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Grand Prix New York Racing/Spins Bowl will host a family-friendly bowling event to benefit local community organizations like the Bedford Free Library, the Westmoreland Sanctuary and the Visions Center on Blindness. The bowl is located at 333 North Bedford Road in Mount Kisco.

- Chinese Art Exhibit and Concert, tour 1 p.m., concert 3 p.m.

The Katonah Museum of Art and Copland House at Merestead will partner to host a Chinese Culture dual-venue event. The museum will give a tour titled “Rising Dragon: Contemporary Chinese Photography.” At 3 p.m., there will be a concert at Copland house: “Sounds of the Dragon: A Chinese-American Musical Harvest.” The Katonah Museum of Art is at 134 Jay St. in Katonah and the Copland House is located at 455 Byram Lake Road in Mount Kisco.
