The organization, which works to make environmental sustainability a top political and policy priority in New York State stated that since taking office as supervisor in January 2014, Burdick has championed Community Choice Aggregation with a 100 percent renewable energy option and supported amendments to strengthen the wetlands law.
They added that as a member of the Town Board prior to becoming supervisor, Burdick sponsored a dark skies law and a ridgeline protection law and strongly supported the excellent work of Bedford 2020, Bedford’s leading-edge sustainability group, and sponsored including the Climate Action Plan as a chapter of the town’s Comprehensive Plan. Burdock also implemented, and funded through the Capital Plan the recommendations of the energy audit of town facilities including solar panels on the roof of the planned police station renovations.
