Bedford DPW to Pick Up Irene Residential Debris

Bedford, NY-- If Hurricane Irene left unwanted debris on your Bedford property, the town’s Department of Public Works (DPW) will be around to help you on Sunday, September 11th. The Bedford DPW will be picking up logs and brush and are asking for the materials to be at the edge of the property.

The town will only be able to pick up two cubic yards of debris per household, and if there is any overflow it will be left behind. The pickup will occur once per road, so if there is any left there will be no secondary pickup.

More specifications include making sure that the “debris must be placed so that it does not interfere with traffic,” and that “logs over 10” in diameter shall not be greater than 3’ in length,” says the town of Bedford’s website.

If you or any of your neighbors have questions about the storm debris pickup, contact the Bedford Department of Public Works at 666-7669.
