BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Here are some of the stories that topped the news in Bedford this week:
- Western Connecticut State University professor Paul Hines, 73, of Danbury, was arrested in New York state on Monday and accused of engaging in a sex act with a Somers minor .
- At a public forum held before a packed house at Port Chester Middle School, hundreds of Westchester County parents and educators expressed concern and outrage to New York Education Commissioner John King over the implementation of the Common Core .
- The Lightning, a U13/14team comprised of boys from Bedford, Pound Ridge and Armonk, went 15-0 this fall and won the Westchester Putnam Baseball Association league championship and league tournament.
- The Sierra Club from the Lower Hudson Group has endorsed Chris Burdick in the race for Bedford Town Board .
