Northeast Westchester Rotary Supplies Food To Katonah Center

BEDFORD, N.Y. -- The Northeast Westchester Rotary Club, which meets in Somers, raised $1,000 to purchase food for those in need.

The fundraiser was part of the organization's Outreach Food Project.

The food collected was delivered to the Community Center of Northern Westchester in Katonah.

Several hundred Rotary volunteers assembled for a full day at the Memorial United Methodist Church in White Plains to package the meals on Oct. 19. Each package will feed a family of six, and is available with macaroni and cheese or rice and beans.

Forty metropolitan area Rotary Clubs around the country raised a total of $25,000.

The project is sponsored by Outreach, Inc., a national non-profit organization dedicated to ending hunger.

Rotary is a volunteer organization dedicated to reach out to fill the needs of others in our local, national, and global communities.
