Bedford's Collin McLoughlin Eliminated From 'The Voice'

BEDFORD, N.Y. – Bedford native Collin McLoughlin was eliminated from NBC’s singing competition show "The Voice” on Tuesday night.

After the singer, 24, was paired with 16-year-old Michaela Paige in the show’s "knockout rounds,” Blake Shelton, the singers' country music star coach, chose Paige to move on to the live performance rounds.

McLoughlin started off by covering The Script's "Breakeven,” followed by Paige, who sang Pat Benatar's "Love Is a Battlefield." The previous "battle rounds" left 10 contestants on each  team to compete in this week's "knockout rounds." The nail-biting factor here is that competitors don't know which team member they will face off against until right before they take the stage.

When the knockout rounds are over, each celebrity coach – Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green – has five contestants on his or her team for the final round of competition, the live voting rounds, which start next week.

"The Voice" returns Monday and Tuesday with the voting rounds.

McLoughlin's fans can purchase his original singles from the show on iTunes and get updates on his musical journey via his website, Facebook and Twitter accounts.
