Supervisor Chris Burdick will read the annual Town of Bedford Arbor Day proclamation on behalf of the Town Board. A representative of the NYS DEC will present the "Tree City USA" designation award on behalf of the National Arbor Day Foundation to Bedford if scheduling permits.
Bedford has been designated as a "Tree City USA" for 15 years, and 2016 will be the 16th. The honor is granted to comunities that have a Tree Board or Department, a tree care ordinance, a comprehensive forestry program and an annual Arbor Day observance and official proclamation.
The rain date is April 23.
