Held at Fox Lake High School, the event will offer a day full of events that include everything from workshops to a farmer's market, to guest speakers, and of course, food.
The major community event, hosted by Bedford 2020, will engage attendees in local food’s many benefits and build awareness and support for local farmers, the food system, and initiatives that increase food access for all and eliminate food waste.
The keynote speakers will include New York Times journalist, Mark Bittman and Wholesome Wave founder, Michel Nischan.
Attendees will be able to choose from 20 expert panels and workshops that include such topics as "Backyard to Table: Grow Your Own Food 101," to "The Skinny on What’s Really in Our Food." Other workshops include topics such as bees and chickens, how to be a local food advocate and using local seeds for growing your own food.
