The arrival of a cold front will bring relief from the heat, but it will also result in scattered thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening.
A few storms may become strong, possibly severe, with gusty, damaging winds being the primary threat, according to the National Weather Service.
The storm chance begins at 3 p.m. Tuesday and lasts through just before midnight.
The passage of the cold front will bring a more comfortable day Wednesday with a high temperature in the upper-70s under mostly sunny skies.
Thursday will be sunny with a high in the low-70s.
