Northwest winds will gust to around 40 mph Friday, ushering in a much colder airmass which will see temperatures drop into the 30s.
The gusty winds could result in the downing of some tree limbs or compromised trees, along with isolated power outages, according to the National Weather Service.
Wind chills will fall into the teens and 20s as a result on Friday, and dip to near zero overnight into Saturday.
Friday night's low in Central Park is expected to plummet about 25 degrees and could break the record low of 28 for the date, set back in 1933.
