The arrival of a cold front will bring with it a line of showers and thunderstorms to the area that could pack a powerful punch Saturday late afternoon and Saturday evening, according to the National Weather Service and AccuWeather.com.Stronger cells within the line of storms could produce isolated damaging wind gusts and heavy downpours.
The storms will "bring the potential for hail, strong wind gusts and torrential downpours on Saturday afternoon and the early evening," according to AccuWeather Meteorologist Eric Leister.
Showers are likely after 4 p.m. Saturday, with showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 10 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 10 p.m. and midnight.according to the National Weather Service.
The outlook for Sunday calls for cloudy skies and a high in the low 60s. There will be a chance of showers before 2 p.m.
The sun returns Monday with a high around 60.
