Get ready to bundle up as the season's first freeze warning is in effect for early Wednesday in Northern Westchester, Putnam and Rockland counties, according to the National Weather Service.

The freeze warning is forecast to last from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m., officials said.

Residents can expect patchy frost with a low around 29 degrees Tuesday night before the front moves in bringing the freezing temperatures and snow showers that will settle over the area on Thursday, said the weather service.

Temperatures are expected to be between 25 to 35 degrees  Wednesday with increasing clouds and light winds.

Rain will continue into Thursday evening with an 80 percent chance of showers before partly sunny skies return on  Friday with a high around 50 degrees.
