A part of a busy Northern Westchester road that had been closed to all traffic for almost two months has reopened, police said.
The stretch of Route 118 in Yorktown between Birdsall Drive and Hanover Street has fully reopened to traffic, according to an alert by Yorktown Police on Friday, Dec. 9.
The road had been closed since Monday, Oct. 17, and had originally been expected to open in November. However, the closure was later extended to December, according to police.
The closure was implemented to facilitate a culvert replacement, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.
