A simple request to turn down music led to a savage stabbing that left a 52-year-old library security guard dead.
Sandra Wilson, 52, of Spring Valley, was killed when she asked 25-year-old Blanchard Glaudin, also of Spring Valley, to turn down the music he was playing on his phone, said police.
A minute later, around 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18, Glaudin was repeatedly stabbing Wilson on the third floor of the Finkelstein Memorial Library in Spring Valley as she sat behind her desk with a kitchen knife with a six-inch blade, according to Spring Valley Police Officer Matthew Galli.

A man accused of ramming into a family of eight in front of a 7-Eleven store in Rockland County, killing the pregnant mother, stood in an orange jumpsuit, shackled at the waist as his attorney entered a not guilty plea in court on Friday.
Jason Mendez, 35, of Washingtonville in Orange County, was indicted by a grand jury on Tuesday, Feb. 26, charging him with one count of murder in the second degree and seven counts of attempted murder in the second degree, said Rockland County Acting District Attorney Kevin Gilleece.

Additional charges have been filed against the man accused of intentionally driving his car twice into a family of eight, killing the mother, who was reportedly several weeks pregnant.
