Hunterdon County Man Busted With Narcotics In QuickChek Parking Lot: Police A 40-year-old Lebanon Borough resident was arrested on Friday, April 12 after he was discovered with narcotics in a QuickChek parking lot in Readington, police said. At 3 a.m. police responded to a report of an aggressive driver traveling east on Route 22 near County Line Road and pulled over Michael Fittipaldi in a QuickChek parking lot, Readington police said. Student Hospitalized After Assault At Essex County High School: Police A student was hospitalized after being assaulted at a high school in Essex County on Tuesday, April 9, authorities said. Maplewood police said a student at Columbia High School was assaulted by a student from a different school. The victim was treated by and transported with their parent to an area hospital by South Essex Fire Department, Maplewood police said in a release. There was no direct threat to the school or any other students, police said. The student was later released from the hospital with minor injuries, police said. Paterson Man, 43, Dies In Crash With Dump Truck, Guardrail On Route 80: State Police A 43-year-old Paterson man was killed after he crashed into a truck on Route 80 in Essex County on the early morning of Friday, April 12, authorities said. Black Maria Revamped: New Film Studio Approved In West Orange West Orange is going to back to its movie-making roots. Last December, the township approved a redevelopment agreement to develop a film studio at the site credited with the birthplace film industry. Former Flemington Councilman Indicted For Stealing $1K From Democrats: Prosecutor A former member of the town council was recently for indicted for stealing $1,000 from the Flemington Democratic Club last year, authorities said. Malik Johnston, a 47-year-old Flemington resident, was indicted for theft by a grand jury in Hunterdon County for stealing $1,000 from the club's bank account at a branch in Bridgewater, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Raritan Man Arrested In Stabbing: Prosecutor A 31-year-old Raritan man was arrested and charged with a stabbing that occurred in the early morning of Monday, April 1, authorities said. Jose Cruz-Guzman stabbed another man in the hand during an argument just before 4 a.m., Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald said. New Jersey State Police Mourns K-9 Echo, Explosive Detection Dog Echo, who served in the New Jersey State Police K-9 unit for 11 years, was laid to rest on Thursday, April 4 due to health issues, the NJSP announced on Facebook.
